Hello again.
I have some new artwork to show off.
First is my entry into this year’s Animation Lockdown.
I’ll have the rest of my work up soon.
I made this when I was participating in the Quickdraw Animation Society’s 6th annual Animation Lockdown. Participants are given 48 hours and access to all of Quickdraw’s facilities to create an animated short film.
The theme for that year’s lockdown was “Beyond the Comfort Zone”, and I think the fact that I had never participated in the event before fulfilled that theme for me.
Animated in ToonBoom Studio.
This augmented reality based installation was my entry into the Alberta College of Art + Design 2011 Grad Show. I coded it using Processing and made many of the 3D assets with Blender.
What the program does is use facial recognition software to capture a a person’s face and map it onto a 3D modelled head, which is generated constantly as a particle in the piece.
To this day I still think that it is one of the greatest things I have accomplished.
Eventually I will post the source code to this site once I have updated the source code to take advantage of the newer versions of Processing.
